The Social Network is a motion picture that was released in Indonesia on October 2010. The film is directed by David Fincher. This motion picture was based on the novel titled The Accidental Billionaires written by Ben Mezrich. The movie itself is starred by Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield, Justin Timberlake, and many more. The story focused on a Harvard University student, Mark Zuckerberg, who at the first time, creates a site named “FaceMash”. FaceMash’s popularity brings him to the attention of Winklevoss twin. As a result, he gains a job working for them as the programmer of Harvard Connection. Then, Mark gets an idea to create “Thefacebook” and he starts to develop the site with the funding help from his friends, Eduardo Saverin. The site becomes quickly popular. Then, Mark and Eduardo meet the Napster co-founder, Sean Parker, and that’s all the conflicts starts. The movie itself is categorized as one of best movies in 2010 by many critics in the world. Besides the background story about how the most influential and popular social network site in the word is made, The Social Network tells the drama of friendship, betrayal, business competition and law complication. Even though the fast pace of the plot, the using of front-and-backwards screenplay, and the fast-talking dialogs, we can still enjoy the story and follow the plot and complication easily. The movie tagline “you don’t get to 500 million friends without making a few enemies” is so well-developed by the director and the script-writer. We can understand this tagline after we watch the movie. Overall, I think that the plot, actors, and its ending story are so good. Otherwise, it wouldn’t be one of the world’s best motion pictures in 2010.
